  • Hi!

As a traveller, you may bring medicines into Sweden for your own personal medical use. Please note that there are restrictions on the quantity of medicines you may bring with you.

For prescription medicines, you may be asked to provide documentation showing that the medicine has been prescribed to you, such as:
    • a prescription issued in your name
    • a certificate from your doctor or another authorised prescriber
    • a pharmacy label on the medicine packaging showing your name
If you are travelling with your pet, you may bring medicines that have been prescribed by a veterinarian for your pet.

Special rules apply to narcotic medicinal products.
The requirements and permitted quantities depend on:
    • which narcotic substance the medicine contains
    • the country you are travelling from
    • your country of residence
Please note that narcotic medicines prescribed for pets may not be brought into Sweden.

Further information about quantity limits and requirements for different types of medicines is available on our webpage Travelling with medicines
